Know you must be expecting makeup news & nothing but makeup news, but when I discover something special I just have to share the LOVE!
I had a deadline for getting this website up & running…I had one of those BIG milestone birthdays coming up & I desperately wanted this to go live before that date. Tah Dah!! goal achieved, website live before the BIG date.
Being the centre of attention isn’t my thing so a big party wasn’t on the cards for me. My wonderful Hubby decided to take me on a fabulous 5 day trip to Sydney to visit all my fav places. So this blog is all about sharing this info with you. My favourite places to stay, eat & shop.
We always grab that early morning flight, I love to make the most of my stay, so this gives us another full day to enjoy. Hiring a car & going to those places that are a little bit harder to get to. First stop gorgeous Coogee, it’s one of those beautiful, iconic Sydney beaches, there’s a quaintness about Coogee which I totally love. One of my favourite restraunts http://www.barzura.com.au/ is a great place for breaky or lunch. We always stop in here on the way back to the airport & admire the view before we head home for Adelaide. Another great place to kick back & relax with a cool glass of whatever tickles your fancy is http://www.coogeebayhotel.com.au/ Without fail I always visit Cargo Store https://www.facebook.com/CargoStore to check out the fashions, they have cool garments you just don’t find in Adelaide, I always try & schedule a couple of visits during my stay, just in case the girls get in new stock.
Of course no visit is complete without that quick visit to Bondi & Manly. I swear the ferry ride to Manly must be the cheapest, best trip on the harbour. This is a ride I never miss out on, I just love being on the water. Sitting there with a coffee & a muffin, enjoying the view, nothing better!!
On the big day Hubby had booked a fantastic helicopter ride up to Terrigal for a fabulous lunch at http://www.reefrestaurant.com.au/ with http://www.blueskyhelicopters.com/. Yep, he really hit it out of the ball park for FABULOUS!! He even booked a limo ride to & from the airport & there was champagne poured before the 20 minute trip up the coast. No words can express how SPECIAL this all was!!
Menu at the Reef Restaurant was amazing we had a lot of champagne & an amazing meal. Can’t recommend this place too highly, we will definitely be going back on our next visit to Sydney.
We spent the other days wandering around the Rocks, Circular Quay, Darling Harbour & taking ferry rides to Watsons Bay. We loved http://watsonsbayhotel.com.au/beach-club/ so much we went back twice. Love all the blue & white beach umbrellas, giving it a luxurious French Riviera ambience all with beautiful Sydney Harbour as a backdrop. Last day spent on Oxford Street Paddington hunting for bargains in the Red Cross & Salvos shops. You can find some amazing designer labels here for a fraction of the price & I totally love anything vintage. All I managed this time was a pair of sunnies but they are just so cool. Another Oxford Street haunt for me is Make Up Store. Beautiful professional products, always friendly & helpful staff & just have to treat myself to their magazine. If you love makeup it’s like a treasure trove of inspiration http://www.makeupstore.se/.
We rushed from Paddington back to Watsons Bay to have lunch at the Beach Club, sharing in a scrumptious bucket of prawns (never tasted anything fresher), an entrée of salt & pepper squid (that was more like a main course) & some Coronas….with a fantastic view of Sydney.
Guess what? I did make a lightening visit back to Cargo Store, & just as well look at these gorgeous pants I picked up.
We stayed at the Astral Tower serviced apartments situated in Darling Harbour http://www.star.com.au/sydney-hotel-accommodation/Pages/astral-residences.aspx We find this a great central location, easy 20 minute walk to Circular Quay, from which everything is accessible. It’s not budget but totally worth the investment. There is an amazing food court downstairs, great if you want to grab some take-away, a bottle of vino from the BWS across the road & kick back in your room with a stunning view. For dessert try out the gelato in the food court with lip-smacking flavours like salted caramel & burnt fig, who can resist.
Can’t wait to go back soon & see Strictly Ballroom http://www.strictlyballroomthemusical.com/
Bye for now, promise to have some super info on my favourite products for priming & prepping your skin to have you looking your most FABULOUS .
